When is the start date for entry-level positions?
We hire throughout the year as we have several training class intakes in each business. Your recruiter will work with you to determine the start date based on your earliest availability after graduation as well as business needs.
Do you offer a Summer Internship Program? When will applications open?
We have a 10-week structured Summer Internship Program from June – August 2022, targeting penultimate year students graduating in 2023. Openings will be available in different departments including Analytics & Sales, Global Data, Customer Support, and News. Applications open between September – October and interested candidates can refer to our careers site or follow us on WeChat (ID: 彭博Bloomberg招聘) for more updates.
I am graduating in 2 years’ time. Are there opportunities for Sophomore students like myself?
Bloomberg Academy is our signature week-long personal and professional development program for high potential students graduating in 2023 who are interested in a career in the financial markets. You will get the chance to participate in terminal training, skills workshops, interview training, networking and volunteering all designed to help prepare you for opportunities in the financial industry and equip you with the skills to start your career. Participants who attend Bloomberg Academy will also be given a head-start to apply for our internship program, and strong performers may be expedited through the interview process. We also offer Bloomberg Customer Support Discovery Week for students who are interested in gaining insight to our Bloomberg Customer Support (BCS) team. This is a 3-day program where you will have the opportunity to network with BCS colleagues, gain insight into the day-to-day work, attend workshops that build your professional skills and learn how to apply this knowledge in a practical, fast-paced business environment. Participants will also explore future opportunities with BCS, particularly the internship program and qualify for an interview if they successfully complete the program. I am interested in Software Engineering roles. Are these available in Mainland China?

What are the requirements to apply to Bloomberg?

I was rejected/ unsuccessful in my previous application. Can I apply again?
Yes, you can re-apply for the same position after 6 months for internship positions and 12 months for full-time positions.
Will Bloomberg sponsor my work visa?
Legal authorization to work full time in China is required. Sponsorship requirements vary across our other APAC offices so you may wish to refer to the job description or speak with your recruiter for more information.
I have a friend who works at Bloomberg. Can he/she refer me?
Yes, a Bloomberg employee can refer you to the position that you are interested in. This can be indicated in the application form and will be reflected in our system upon submission. Referred applicants will go through the same interview process as all other applicants.

What types of questions are asked during the Business interview?
The interview may include a mix of technical, role play, and behavioral questions related to the role. Prior to your interview, your recruiter will host an interview briefing to advise you on what to expect and how to better prepare for the interview.
Are interviews conducted virtually or in office?
Most of our interviews are conducted virtually via video conference. Your recruitment contact will be able to advise you on the appropriate interview format.
Does the Summer Internship Program have a different selection process from the graduate positions?
Our selection process is consistent across our Summer Internship and Graduate positions.
Is the Summer Internship Program held virtually or in office?
This year, we are hosting our internship program on-site in the Shanghai and Beijing offices. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation to determine the best approach to take for our internship program in 2022. The safety of our employees, interns and visitors will always remain our utmost priority.
Is there any support provided for interns or new hires who are situated outside their country of hire?
This is reviewed on a case by case basis. Your recruiter will be able to advise you at a later stage of the process.

We offer a competitive package. Your recruiter can give you more information about this at the end of the selection process, but we cannot disclose compensation numbers at this stage.
